Anthony Giddens
former director of the London School of Economics and
Political Science (LSE) which he led from 1997 to 2003,
he was previously a fellow and professor of Sociology
at King's College, Cambridge. In 1985, he co-founded
the academic publishing house Polity Press.
More recently, he has served as an advisor to British
Prime Minister Tony Blair. In May 2004 he received the
title of Lord.
